Dreamgirl Letter
While members of most fraternities see their
membership merely as an activity, the men of Pi Kappa Alpha at the University of Tulsa
see their membership as a lifestyle. As the 2007-2008 Dreamgirl of the
Gamma Upsilon chapter of Pi Kappa Alpha, I am honored to represent such
a well-rounded, devoted, and genuine group of men. No where else have I
discovered the type of commitment to a greater good than that which
exists among these brothers.
Personally, I have many justifications for my love
towards the Pikes. However, one reason stands out above the rest. What I
have learned to love so dearly about the men of Pi Kappa Alpha over the
past two years is their dedication to one another. Never once have I
seen any of them hesitate to assist another regardless of the degree of
their request or the desirability, or lack there of, of the task. This
type of bond that is so apparent to an individual like me from the
outside must have an incredible degree of strength. From young men
entering college to alum from years past, it is impossible for me to see
why anyone would not want to be a part of an organization like this one.
Many of my greatest college memories exist because
of my relationship with the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity. I truly feel it
is one of the only places on campus that a woman can go and feel
completely comfortable and respected. This is an attribute of Pike that
never seizes to impress me. Whether it is their social gatherings, halls
filled with laughter, synchronized swimming routines, or late night
chats, I truly cherish every memory I have experienced with these men
and cannot wait to see what the future holds.
Yes the Pikes are athletic, intelligent, giving,
and loyal, but more importantly they are true gentlemen. I firmly
believe that each and every member of the Gamma Upsilon chapter has a
bright future in store for them. For all the past memories and those yet
to present themselves, my days are always a little brighter because of
these men. It truly is an honor to be the Dreamgirl of Pi Kappa Alpha.
Love always and forever,
Caroline Bettis
